Mia Heide

Senior Analyst

Mia is motivated to drive positive change and is convinced that wellbeing economy can play a crucial role in the transition to a more sustainable society that considers both people and the planet.

​

Mia has completed an industrial Ph.D. in collaboration with NIRAS and DTU Sustain at the Department of Quantitative Sustainability Assessment. Her research has focused on how the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals can be translated into practice in the Danish construction industry, with a particular emphasis on integrating social sustainability within planetary boundaries.

At WELA, Mia works on one of the most pressing questions of our time: How can present and future generations lead good lives within planetary boundaries? She has extensive expertise in the intersection between human needs, sustainable behavior, and consumption, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to her work.

​

At WELA, she applies this knowledge in our policy analyses and communications while also developing multidimensional decision-making tools that support sustainable policies and practices.

​

In her free time, Mia is a mother who enjoys cooking vegetarian meals and staying active.
